Dear Seattle,
Rhythm Revue would like to announce that November 8, 2008 will be the last of its regularly scheduled dances.
Starting in April of 2006, we began organizing Rhythm Revue every 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month. Our vision has been to put on an event with exciting classes, swinging music from the early jazz and swing eras, live bands, contests, and an overall friendly social environment for dancers to hang out and enjoy themselves. Our intention has been that this dance would be paid for and supported by the attending community and that all profits would stay within the Rhythm Revue fund to support our mission. To this end we have succeeded, thanks to all of our wonderful patrons.
We would like to thank everyone that has made Rhythm Revue happen and especially Sonny and Nancy Newman who have allowed us use of their great dance floor. In particular we’d like to thank all the fantastic DJs and teachers that worked with us – we were very fortunate to have so many of Seattle’s finest collaborating with us on this event over the years. Also special thanks to those who volunteered to sit at the door and help us with putting on the dances.
*There are two remaining Rhythm Revue dances coming up (Oct 25, Nov 8), and we hope to see you there!
Thank you all so much!
